It's January, and Tenerife is in spring: warm by the ocean and snow on the volcano. A week in the Canaries is a way to escape winter — not on a sunbed, but walking, exploring and being amazed.
The star of the island is Mount Teide, the highest point in Spain (3,715 m), surrounded by the lunar landscapes of the national park, with black volcanic sand beaches down by the ocean.
